Two-Day Workshop On 'Responsible Care'

Under the auspices of Safety, Health & Environment Expert Committee (Responsible Care Coordinator Group) has organized a Two-day Workshop on "RESPONSIBLE CARE" on 4 - 5 January 2011 jointly in association with American Chemistry Council (ACC) Responsible Care Directorate. The venue of the Workshop is Terrace Hall, West End Hotel, 45 New Marine Lines, Near Bombay Hospital, Mumbai - 400 020.

ICC became a member of Responsible Care Leadership Group (RCLG) of International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) in 1994. Since then, till date around 100 ICC members have become signatory to Responsible Care, thereby committing themselves to this Program.

ICC through various programs and workshops including a prestigious award (Aditya Birla Award for Best Responsible Care Committed Company) has been promoting Responsible Care among its members.

Globally in past few years, Responsible Care concept made rapid stride. In February 2006 International Conference on "Chemicals Management under Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management" in Dubai, International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) has committed to United Nations for safe chemicals management through Product Stewardship Code of Responsible Care and introduced the concept of Global Product Stewardship (GPS).

Global Product Stewardship (GPS) is for increasing public and stakeholders awareness as well confidence that chemicals in commerce will be safely managed throughout the lifecycle. Product Stewardship and Global Product Stewardship are two concepts, to which a major section of ICC members, specially SMEs are not very familiar. ICC has developed the concept of Global Product Stewardship to improve product stewardship within the Chemical Industry and with customers throughout the chain of commerce.

All speakers of the Workshop will be of very high caliber and mostly from Global Chemical majors namely, Exxon-Mobil, BASF, Dow Chemicals, Dow Corning, Tata Chemicals, etc. Detailed program is attached herewith for your information.
