Awareness Program on CHEMICAL WEAPONS CONVENTION FOR CUSTOMS OFFICIALS

As a part of celebration of "International Year of Chemistry 2011", ICC in cooperation with Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India and National Authority organized a Half-day Awareness Program on "CHEMICAL WEAPONS CONVENTION" for the benefit of Customs Officials of Mumbai Port Trust and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust on 18 November 2011 in the Conference Hall of New Customs House Mumbai


Mr. R. R. Gokhale, Secretary General ICC, welcoming Ms Shobha L. Chary, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai with a bouquet of flowers.

Ms Shobha L. Chary, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai inaugurated the program. She thanked ICC for organizing this very special program for the benefit of Customs Officials and hoped that the information and knowledge that the Customs Officials will be receiving out of this program will be of immense help to them in their day-to-day working.

Mr. Ajesh Kumar, Commissioner (EP), Mr. S. L. Meena, Commissioner of Customs (General), Mr. A. P. S. Suri, Commissioner of Customs (Imports), Mr. Baswaraj Nalegave, Addl. Commissioner of Customs participated in the program along with more than 30 Customs Officials.


ASECTION OF THE PARTICIPANTS AT THE PROGRAM

Presentations were made by Mr. Jasbir Singh, Consultant, DCPC, Ministry of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Government of India and Mr. Sudhir Kulkarni, Incharge-ICC CWC Help Desk, Navi Mumbai. This was a very special and focused program for Customs Officials and therefore presentations were made highlighting Import Export Trade Policy especially in the context of Chemical Weapons Convention.
